Sharing, caring faces

Friday, November 9th, 2012

One of our favorite 2012 projects is Faces of Sharing, the Robins, Kaplan, Miller & Ciresi L.L.P. 2011 community service report. This 60-page book details a full year’s worth of the Minneapolis-based law firm’s philanthropic endeavors across the United States, from hands-on food drives to large-scale foundational support of nonprofits nationwide.

Dive in again at Red Wing Water Park

Monday, July 2nd, 2012

The Red Wing Water Park is once again open for heat-beating business.

When we helped the Red Wing Water Park with a rebranding effort, we didn’t just create new posters, brochures and a logo for a great client; we performed a public service. Because when the mercury is bursting through the roof, everyone in and around Red Wing, Minnesota, needs to know where they can go to escape that summer sizzle. Tucked away in the secluded confines of Colvill Park, the four acres of pools, slides and other aquatic amusement at Red Wing Water Park are perfect for kids and adult alike looking for some fun to go with their sun.

Open 7 days a week through August 26!

Read a few Stories of Hope

Friday, June 22nd, 2012

The spring issue of Stories of Hope, the quarterly Second Harvest Heartland newsletter, is out now. Inside, you’ll find a preview of the Second Harvest Heartland annual report, which illuminates just how effective this amazing organization is at providing for the hungry people in Minnesota. You’ll also read about another project we’re happy to be a part of, Second Harvest Heartland West. The nonprofit’s brand new service center in Golden Valley, MN, is a great place to volunteer and start making a difference in the lives of Minnesota’s children, seniors and families.

Few projects bring us as much satisfaction as Stories of Hope, because by helping Second Harvest Heartland design, write and coordinate delivery of this valuable fundraising tool, we’re really helping to create positive change in our communities.

A derriere with a dairy air

Friday, June 8th, 2012

Sure, the Confluence hometown of Red Wing, Minnesota, has plenty to offer out-of-towners. Frequent eagle sightings. Majestic Barn Bluff. The giant boot at the Red Wing Shoe Company flagship store. The Pottery Place. The town is a daytripper’s dream. But there’re no butts about the increasingly popular appeal of one attraction: the rear-end in our window.  Since January, the Confluence Cow Keister has greeted everyone who walks along Main Street with an air of derriere.

Allow us to explain.

While every job offers its own unique challenge, sometimes we find a project we can really get behind. When we were conscripted to create the theme, look and materials for a client’s ag-related holiday party, we didn’t take the task sitting down. We got to the bottom of an idea that would make for a lively and memorable evening. We birthed the back-half of Bessie.

The party featured plenty of fun and games, but to claim a much-deserved prize, partygoers had to get a handle on our heifer’s heiney. Yep, the prize bag was hidden where the sun don’t shine. Some winners were a little hesitant to get their hands dirty, while others were disturbingly eager. Everyone, semi-disgusted or not, agreed that they hadn’t seen (or reached into) anything much like it.

So when the party was over, Bessie’s booty went on display in the Confluence storefront, where she continues to be a bigger hit than Baby Got Back. Tourists and Red Wing residents alike constantly take photos of and with our ruminant rump. Come see us and take your photo. All we ask is that you tag us on Facebook and remember to give us a call if you really want to inject your brand with creative, positive change.

Or if you just need a cow butt built.

A site that makes a splash

Monday, January 23rd, 2012

When Red Wing High School Boys Swim Team officials needed an easy and efficient way to share important information with a large number of swimmers, parents, coaches and fans without sending massive group emails, we were glad to jump in and help out by designing and programming the team’s very own spot on the web.

The new team website makes a splash as a one-stop center for information about the team. Visitors can easily check out schedules, team records and history, download important forms and immerse themselves in team news with a regularly updated blog.

A refreshed website for a refreshing organization

Tuesday, August 16th, 2011

The Villa Maria Retreat and Conference Center is the perfect setting to renew your spirit, retreat from life’s distractions, or reconnect with nature. To convey what a refreshing experience the Villa Maria can be, the center’s website needed a refresher of its own.

Working closely with the Villa Maria staff and board, we designed, photographed, wrote and built  a website that accurately shows all the natural beauty the Villa Maria’s campus has to offer.

Check out the site at villamariaretreats.org. Or, if you know of  a group looking for a quiet place to retreat, a family in need of a beautiful setting for a reunion, or anyone just looking to get away, get back to basics and enjoy the simpler things in life, click here.

The River City Ramble is a great chance to create some positive change for yourself and our community’s kids. The annual 5K and half-marathon each take place in our hometown or Red Wing, Minnesota, on July 30, and all proceeds support Red Wing YMCA youth programs. Where else can you get some sun, get fit and get involved in the community in the same afternoon? Confluence was pleased to get involved with this great community event by helping to create a variety of promotional materials, from brochures to posters and postcards.
